Well mah boy Edwards dropped out a few hours ago. Not that I didn't know it was coming, but we can dream. Why did I like him? I'll name a few reasons.
Taken from The Washington Times:
The Edwards plan — which would ban any new coal-fired power plant from being built in the U.S. — aims to reduce greenhouse gases 80 percent by 2050.
Mr. Edwards and Mr. Obama said they would auction off polluter permits and use the money to promote clean energy and alternative fuel research, while Mrs. Clinton said she was "intrigued" by that idea.
Mr. Edwards also pledged to spend $1 billion to make sure America builds "the most fuel-efficient, innovative cars on the planet," stressing the jobs should go to union members in towns hurt by outsourcing. He said he would create one million new "green-collar jobs," a term most Democratic presidential candidates are using on the campaign trail.
I also how he liked to put Osama and Hillary on the spot about certain issues.
That was always fun......oh, those were the days. He seemed like he connected with his speeches, but Lisa informs me that being a lawyer, which she is, speaking and appealing to people is what you have to be good at to succeed.
So what am I to do now? Well I found this article in Kiplingers and thought it was quite interesting. It tells about each candidates financial portfolio. Check out your favorite candidate or all of them.
After reading each of those, tell me this. How can any of those candidates except Barack Obama stand or rather understand the little man (ie lower and lower middle class) when they themselves aren't living near the same lifestyle or in the same financial situation as them. Granted all of them are rich by society's standard, but I can believe someone is fighting to make the US better for lower income family's more when I think this person is here in the trenches and not jet-setting around the world and making bad/wrong investments. Of particular interest was Romney's portfolio.
So I was at work the other day sitting in a coworkers office. It was her birthday and a third coworker left as I walked in. Birthday Girl was chuckling and I inquired why. "He asked me what I wanted for my birthday and I said nothing, then he said how about the backside of my hand." It struck me as strangely funny and we both enjoyed another laugh. I commented on how that was strange that he would say that because in my mind, the guy coworker didn't come around a lot so I didn't think they knew each other well.
The conversation got a bit dark when Birthday Girl said, "Yea, I've had that plenty before and don't want anymore (referring to the other side of his hand comment)." I furrowed my brow and gave a stern "HUH?" She then said, "You didn't know, we used to be married." I didn't know...
Characteristic to point out at this point: "Backhand Man" has a speaking problem that he wasn't born with.
Back to the story...
Birthday Girl went on about how Backhand Man earned his name and he had a drinking problem, but had since turned his life around and the previous comment he made was in jest. She then informed me that Backhand Man got his speech problem from a wreck he had many years ago, which I was aware of.
Now the O.Henry turn...........
Birthday Girl: Yea, he was on his way to kill me that night...
Me: /speechless
Birthday Girl: Yea, he had gotten drunk and was driving to my house to shoot me when he got in that wreck and got the speech problem as a result of the wreck.
Me: ................................and yall are friends now?!?!?!?!
B.G.: Sure, that was a long time ago and he is a better person now

What a strange world we sometimes live in and my how weird things end up.
